What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a complete system of healthcare utilising a holistic approach. A naturopath will consider diet and lifestyle factors alongside mental and emotional health to aid in restoring whole system wellbeing. Naturopathic case-taking involves a detailed case history alongside all current symptoms to link connecting systems. This helps find the root cause of the issue rather than provide a bandaid solution. The focus is a proactive approach to wellness.
ELEMENTS OF NATUROPATHY
Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine involves using specific parts of plants that contain magical compounds that have healing actions to alleviate symptoms and restoring wellbeing. Naturopaths create individualised liquid herbals depending on the clients needs to alleviate symptoms and restore wellbeing. Personalised herbal tea blends and tablets may also be prescribed.
Iridology
Iridology is another identification tool in your holistic assessment. Rather than being a complete diagnostic tool, iridology helps to provide additional information to support signs and symptoms including type and strength of an individuals constitution, areas of weakness and genetic predispositions.
Nutritional Medicine
Supplementing nutrients is necessary when dietary intake is low, absorption is affected and when demand is high. Vitamins and nutrients can be prescribed in ready made powder or tablet form or an individualised compound can be created, depending on your needs.
Flower Essences
Health encompasses all aspects of a person, including their emotional and spiritual healing. Flower essences are a type of herbal medicine that contain the vibrational energy of flowers. These essences support emotional change by encouraging awareness and the bodies own natural ability to return to health. Flower essences can be chosen for you based on your needs or via a flower card reading.
Lifestyle
Movement, sunshine and self-care are all very important aspects of wellbeing. I focus on education and implementing small achievable changes consistently. Together we can implement changes to nourish the body and mind that work well with your lifestyle and that you enjoy!
Food as Medicine
What we eat has a huge impact on our overall health. Improving dietary habits is often our first stage of treatment alongside understanding food behaviours and what is or isn’t working for you nutritionally. We will always focus on optimising our nutritional intake by eating our nutrients rather than just supplementing.
